How to setup Free Email Account ( GMail, Hotmail ) Incoming & Outgoing for email Client

Most of the free email service supports the standard “POP3” email protocol (sometimes called POP), which including GMAIL, HOTMAIL. Which means that any email client will be able to configure to use with these mail account.

You may need to enable your ‘POP & FORWARDING’ option via your web based email option settings prior do the following setting.
Following is the setting for HOTMAIL incoming & outgoing server,

incoming server name pop3.live.com
Incoming server port 995
Outgoing server name smtp.live.com
Outgoing server port 25 or 587
Requires SSL Yes
Requires outgoing authentication Yes

Following is the setting for GMAIL incoming & outgoing server,

incoming server name pop.gmail.com
Incoming server port 995
Outgoing server name smtp.gmail.com
Outgoing server port 25 or 587
Requires SSL Yes
Requires outgoing authentication Yes

Important Note :

Most of the mail client will remove the mail after download to the mail client by default, to ensure for this, make sure you uncheck the setting at ‘ADVANCE’ tap at any mail clients, basically it will showed something as’ Remove copy from server after retrieving a message – Right away/After one week/ After one Month’. Remember to uncheck this if you want to leave a copy in the server.
